Starting in 1926, Black History month was started for the remembrance of important people and events in African-America History. I decided to contribute to the African-American remembrance by showcasing successful and famous black entrepreneurs of the past and present by illustrating the milestones that African-American’s have overcome throughout history to reach new heights in the entrepreneurial world today. Anything is possible if you have the will to make it so, just ask the following people (that are alive).

Waking up in the morning to find you have a “to do” list 4 pages long is never a fun experience. Luckily, in the world we live in today there are tools available to assist even the extremely overwhelmed business owner. I recently have been receiving many questions that are along the lines of “What do you do?” The easiest answer is for me to just say that I am a drug dealer or that I am in “waste management” because this question usually leads to an interesting discussion where people typically write me off as some type of crook anyhow. I was originally writing this for college students, but with the current economic status I find that even hard working professionals are feeling enough pressure to seek alternative means of income generation.

If you have not read Rich Dad Poor Dad by: Robert Kiyosaki, I highly suggest it. It teaches a new form of financial intelligence that is missing from the majority of our lives because it is never truly taught in our schools systems. Ideas like paying ourselves before the government, or letting our money work for us, or investing with pure profit may have never crossed our minds before this. Published in 1997, this book is still relevant, if not more relevant than before with our current economic state.
